I have made this quilt twice, both for teacher retirements. They are gorgeous! The first one I made in 2008 and it won a ribbon at a local quilt show. The second one I made for myself and I just finished the top. I made mine into a signature quilt: I had other teachers sign their names on fabric that went into the windows and doors of the school houses. I did not do the same overall fabric for the schoolhouses and nine patch blocks. Mine is done in indigo blues and I used 12 different blues. The other one was done in earth-tone batiks. The pattern is easy to follow. But the two I made were a little tricky because I used different fabrics instead of the same one for the houses and 9-patches.
